Solo GUITAR & VOICE
(Acoustic, Folk, World, Alternative)

With her debut album Rain of Peace brings a songwriter/composer Dana Tupinambá with a delicate voice and warm guitar playing a fine blend of the lyrical, atmospheric and melodic songs guiding the listeners to a landscape of peace and magic. Dana composes her songs in Portuguese and English and currently she is producing her new album Leaf.

In her Solo project entitled Guitar & Voice she performs mostly her original songs and also few compositions for solo guitar playing them on nylon and steel string guitars. Through many years she developed also her passion as an interpreter and an arranger of other songwriters’ songs where she captures the spirit of every chosen piece with graceful authenticity, so beside her own material she loves to include also the songs of some wonderful songwriters such as Nick Drake, Toninho Horta or Milton Nascimento, among others, into her performance. The program is devoted to the acoustic guitar music and songwriting with a result of a fine blend of several influences played in a very personal and intimate way. (Press)

LEAF
(Folk, World, Brazilian Jazz, Ethno)

"In my project Leaf I’m intensively inspired by nature. When I dive into the sounds of my guitar, I feel as I was in the Amazon Rainforest or in the Tatras mountains of Slovakia." (D.T.)

Dana Tupinambá belongs certainly to the interesting artists of contemporary. She developed her own style playing guitar and voice as a unity and using wind instruments with contra canto or unisons leaving free space for improvisations and intuitive playing. Groove-beats and lyrical atmosphere gives her music a special Brazilian flair. In 2006 she released her debut album Rain of Peace with original compositions and songs in jazz club Porgy & Bess in Vienna where she currently lives. Her compositions and songs are rich of unexpected harmonies and melodic lines guiding the listeners to a landscape of peace and magic. In the program are beyond her music also arrangements of songs from some great Brazilian composers. (Press)

BRAZAMA

BraZaMa is a vocal trio of three ladies from Austria, Slovakia and Madagascar: Cornelia Pesendorfer (vocals, oboe and English horn), Dana Tupinamba (vocals, guitar) and Sheila Schmidhofer (vocals, percussion). They first met in 2009 in Vienna and have performed a number of concerts since then. BraZaMa entices the audience with their beautiful voices and their charming appearance on stage. Their repertoire is mainly self composed mixed with traditional songs in Malagasy (Madagascar), Portuguese (Brazil), and Tongan (Zambia). Some of the songs are performed a cappella, some with the accompaniment of instruments such as guitar and oboe or English horn. The songs of BraZaMa reflect the ties of the band members with Brazil, Zambia and Madagascar. They know how to combine them and nourish the cross national musical diversity to a spirited unity.
